New Delhi: The Rohini Sector 20-25 Federation has sought improved civic infrastructure in the area, raising concerns over damaged roads, waterlogging, sanitation, sewerage and irregular water supply.
The concerns were raised during a general body meeting held at Central Park in Pocket-10, Sector 22, on Sunday. Representatives of RWAs and residents from Sectors 20 to 25 attended the meeting.
Residents particularly highlighted the poor condition of Sectors 20 and 22. They said damaged roads, waterlogging and inadequate sanitation continue to affect daily life. They also pointed to the difficulty residents face in pursuing complaints because civic services are handled by different departments.
Participants expressed concern over what they described as limited response from officials and public representatives to complaints. At the same time, Federation representatives said that increased engagement by the organisation had helped create greater awareness among government departments about local issues.
The Federation welcomed the announcement of ₹214.12 crore in development works in Kirari, Bawana, Mundka, Narela and Nangloi Jat. However, it questioned the exclusion of authorised colonies in Rohini Sectors 20-25 from the development package.
Federation president Pawan Chaurasia and general secretary Naveen Aggarwal said more than 100 RWAs are associated with the organisation. According to them, complaints received from residents include contaminated water supply and uncertainty over water-supply timings.
The Federation said it would systematically collect complaints related to water, sewerage and other civic services and forward them to the concerned authorities.
The role of Delhi Jal Board officials in responding to complaints was also appreciated during the meeting.
Members also discussed increasing the participation of women and youth in the Federation's regular activities. Active members were felicitated with mementoes.
The Federation said it wanted to work with government departments and civic agencies to improve public amenities and ensure balanced development across Rohini Sectors 20-25.
